At WOFCO, sustainability is embedded in our strategy, because the future of the ocean is inseparable from the future of our business.
View Report 2025 →WHO WE ARE
We are WOFCO, an organisation formed by fishing families with a global vision. Founded in Vigo in 2016, we have become one of the fastest-growing players in the international fishing sector. We control the entire value chain, from sourcing at origin to delivery to professional customers.
A Commitment Inspired by the Ocean
Four Strategic Pillars
Blue Legacy is WOFCO’s strategic sustainability framework. A living roadmap that guides our environmental, social, and governance management across the entire value chain, from product sourcing to delivery to professional customers.Developed from the Group’s first double materiality assessment, conducted in 2025, it focuses on the issues most relevant to our future: biodiversity and ecosystems, climate change, value chain workers, and business conduct.Because the ocean we rely on today should be passed on in the best possible condition to future generations.
All of this is reflected in the Blue Legacy logo, inspired by mar de ardora, a natural phenomenon produced by tiny marine organisms that, under certain conditions, emit light and cause the ocean to glow in the darkness. This spectacle reminds us of nature’s extraordinary ability to offer us unique moments of beauty, but also of the fragility of the ecosystems that make them possible. Protecting the sea and its biodiversity is essential to preserving this blue legacy and ensuring that future generations can continue to witness and enjoy it.
BLUE LEGACY
Four strategic pillars
We base our business on transparency, regulatory compliance and responsibility for non-financial risks.
We prioritise sourcing from assessed fisheries and verify the origin of each key species using traceability and fisheries legality criteria.
We actively measure and manage the environmental impact of our operations: energy, water, waste and pollution prevention across all our production centres.
We promote decent work, talent development and strong ties with the coastal and port communities where we operate.

PILLAR 2 · RESPONSIBLE SOURCING
We prioritise sourcing from assessed fisheries and verify the origin of each key species using traceability and fisheries legality criteria.
In 2025, we developed the Supplier Code of Ethics and Sustainability, which sets out mandatory minimum standards based on international principles: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Global Compact, ILO conventions and OECD Guidelines. Its implementation is progressive, starting with the suppliers of greatest relevance and risk, in alignment with the Sustainability Policy.
Supplier Code of Ethics →
1
Human Rights
Respect for and promotion of fundamental rights throughout the chain.
2
Environmental Protection
Active care for the marine environment and coastal ecosystems.
3
Zero Tolerance: Forced Labour
Absolute rejection of forced, child or non-consensual labour.
4
Integrity
Ethics, transparency and responsible conduct in every decision.
We maintain a non-negotiable zero-tolerance commitment to illegal, unreported and unregulated IUU fishing. All purchases are supported by catch certificates that allow the origin of each batch to be traced back to its fishery.

We reduce the environmental impact of our operations by managing energy, water, waste and pollution prevention across all our production centres.
Climate Transition
We measure and manage our carbon footprint using the GHG Protocol methodology. We have measured Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions, with Scope 3 measurement underway from 2026.
